How effective is the morning after pill if taken 40 minutes after sex?

Me and my girlfriend had sex using a condom, and the condom seemed to leak a little bit near the base. We went to a bathroom and she cleaned up, then immediately went to a pharmacy and purchased the morning after pill (plan B) she took it about 40 minutes after sex. Also she just got off her period that day as well.
