Not just physical but spiritual.
Does this mean that it has to be all like serious and like your consummating some Holy serious deep marriage act and that God is there with you too?
If yes,I don't really like that idea because it sort of seems to take the humanness, regularness, fun and lightheartedness out of marriage and sex:(What does sex is a spiritual act mean in catholicism or other religions? It's a spiritual thing in the fact that it bonds two people together eternally. God created sex so that two married people can have fun within their relationship. But he also created it to make the bond within marriage stronger. Sex is something that is fun, relieves stress, and there it's not like it has to be taken completely serious to the point where it's not supposed to be fun but it is very spiritual in that it creates a bond between two people. What does sex is a spiritual act mean in catholicism or other religions?I can see your point... but I do not believe that is what it means.
God created sex along with all the other things he created 'and it was good'.
check out the link below. This guy is a preacher but not of the typical sort. He explains Biblical sexuality in a funny sort of way, but he speaks the truth. What does sex is a spiritual act mean in catholicism or other religions?Spiritual reality is all about merging and unification, all our physical sexual desires originate in spirituality.
Except that while in our world all our calculations are based on our self benefit, self satisfaction, in spirituality whatever we do we do it for others, practicing true love, which means the fulfillment of the desire of the other regardless of our own desire.
But this is the "only" condition, other than that everything is possible...
