Why do people say that sex is male and female and gender is masculine and feminine?

I don't see how many people can say this.



A man can be feminine and still call himself a man and a woman can be masculine and still call herself a woman.



Gender is the mental identity of male and female

Sex is the physical identify of male and female



Fortunately for people like me who were born with gender and sex not matching these days its possible to change your physically assigned identity as male or female to match your mentally assigned identity.Why do people say that sex is male and female and gender is masculine and feminine?what's the question ? you already know the answer and has your own conclusion
