How does it work if someone becomes a convicted sex offender at age 6?

My friend claims he was wrongfully accused of being a sex offender in the first grade. Regardless of what he did, he was convicted. Now he says he cannot get a job, is limited from advancing himself, etc., but is that true? He was convicted in PA in 1996, and is now 18, residing in Virginia. Aren't records wiped clean when you turn 18 as long as it's not some malicious crime you committed? And when he was still a minor, were his schools (middle and high schools) and employers notified? How does it work if someone becomes a convicted sex offender at age 6?Thats not true. The age of reasoning is seven. How does it work if someone becomes a convicted sex offender at age 6?

well schools probaly wouldnt let him in
I don't think you can legally be convicted of anything before the age of 11. Unfortunately this friend seems to have lied to you! I hope you get the info your looking for and good luck with your friend!
6 is too young to be convicted of anything as far as i know
A person that young can't have criminal intent. Load of baloney.
Wow. What a sad situation. I wouldn't be surprised if it's true. Nowadays the thirst for revenge is insane.
No, not all crimes are wiped clean when you turn 18. (Technically, they remain until you move to have them sealed or expunged) Often, sex offenses remain. Also, when you are convicted of a sex offense, you can be classified as a sex offender and be placed in sex offender databases. However, not all juveniles are classified--especially when they are six. However, most courts and police departments do not formally deal with six year olds.

I am finding it hard to believe that he is being completely honest with you about when and if he actually was convicted of a sex offense and classified. It is my opinion that he was either convicted and classified at a much older age than he is telling you or he is making this up as an excuse not to find a job.

This is just my opinion from my experience.
yes he is telling the truth , he will always be on his record and it is true records are wipped clean after 18, but with a crime like this it will follow him forever sorry
I would not believe a word he is saying. Maybe he doesn't want to work and wants to mooch off of others for a living. Tell him to go to college and get an education. Then he will be able to get a job. He sounds like a con artist. You can look him up on the Internet and check to see if he is a registered sex offender. Every state has a registry so it will be easy. I think he is a liar and playing you.
how can you be a sex offender when youre 6??
