How can she still remember me?

I've been talking to an old friend via facebook, and we've started catching up. What really surprised me is that she actually remembers me.

We sat next to each other in the second grade and we got along really well. (We were 7, we're 19 now) We haven't been able to talk to each other since then. It turns out we saw each other on the street a year ago. She recognized me and waved, which stunned me, considering I'm over 2 feet taller and I look absolutely nothing like I did when I was 7. I thought it might've been her, but I by the time figured it out, she was long gone.

I added her on facebook a while back, and she seems really happy to be talking to me again. Still, what boggles my mind is that she remembered me after all these years. No old friend has ever remembered me, especially not from 10+ years ago. (When I left public school for an online program in 8th grade, no one even realized I that I'd left) It'd be one thing if we were in our 30s and we had gone to high school together, but we were only 7.

I asked her about that, and she posted a response about saying my name to herself. Then she posted how weird it was that she did that, then she removed them soon after ( I didn't read much into that, mainly because I have a pretty unusual name lol) I'm a little unsure as what's going on now.

(I'm a guy and I did have a crush on her back then, but I never got to tell her)

How can she still remember me?

No rude answers please. How can she still remember me?
I don't think that is unusual at all. To meet someone at 7 and recognise them at 19 is quite common. How can she still remember me?
I think she liked u, and she may still be interested. try and find more about her life, and go from there. tell her u had a crush back then and see what she says. Most likely she will say she did too :)How can she still remember me?
some girls have an outstanding memory like that i still remember my teachers name from kindergarten lol
She definitely liked you were you were little, she still has fond memories of you because she remembered you. I can't tell you for sure but she AT LEAST wants to be your friend. Do you still live near each other? If you do, then ask her out for coffee or lunch or something. Friends do that so it wouldn't be overly weird. If you wouldn't want to be alone with her because it would be too strange, then ask her to come with you to a group thing that you and your friends are doing. Hope this helped!
