Why is my red switched wire always receiving power? (Stereo/amp won't turn off ever)?

Hi. I'm boggled. After hours of online searching, still no direct solution.

This is a 2 part-er. Sorry in advance for the details, but I want this finalized.

I've installed a new deck HU in my 03 Chevy Cavalier. I have an amp with subs.

My first problem was that the amp would never shut off unless I took off the ground wire in the trunk. I attached the remote wire (blue) originally to the back of the aftermarket wiring harness (also blue). This kept the amp always on, and to fix this problem, I am in the process of instead attaching the remote wire (REM) from the amp to the (red) switched ignition wire in the harness. This SHOULD allow the amp to turn on when the car ignition is on, and when the car is started.

However, I now encountered another problem. Originally, I had the switched wires (red) from the harness attached to the (red) wire, both (red) to (red). This allowed my aftermarket stereo to turn off when the car was off, and on when the car was turned on. *Keep in mind, I do realize that the stereo was receiving power after the car was turned off, and the door not open, for a brief period and know this is normal. Now my issue is that when just the (red) to (red) switched wires are attached, with no car on, with no key in the ignition, with doors open, the DECK KEEPS RECEIVING POWER. :( and music continues playing, forever. It seems now the wires are constant power rather then switched, and I have no idea why. No idea. I've tried playing with the (yellow) to (yellow) constant power connections and switching between those and (reds). Still nothing. It just continues power. But the wipers and cig lighter do not work when there is no key in the ignition, and are acting as they are supposed to. This is with the remote wire not attached to the switched (red) wires. When I do add this 3rd connection (red, red, and blue remote), the amp powers on, with the stereo still on, no key in the ignition, doors open, etc.

I'm looking for a way to get my stereo off when the car is off, acting as usual AS WELL as a location for my remote (blue) wire to allow my amp to be turned on when the car is on, and off when the car is off. (I assumed that attaching it to the (red) switched would solve this problem, but there is now constant power.) Why? No idea.

Need major assistance, please and thank you.

sounds like you got a bad harness.. there put together for about $1.50 and sold for 30-75$ so is probably some bad solder connections in it :/ i have ran into problem more than anyone ever should

best bet is to replace the harness

as far as the remote wire i wouldn't really hook it to the red..it puts out to much power. blue wire only need 3 volts tap it into the radio fuse in the fuse boxWhy is my red switched wire always receiving power? (Stereo/amp won't turn off ever)?
Did you use the aftermarket harness for the stereo install? the red wire is your switch wire and the yellow is your constant wire. black goes to ground. and that should turn your stereo on when you turn they key. you should use the blue with white stripe as the amp turn on

make sure the ground wire is grounded to the clean metal and secure and that should allow you to turn on the amp from the radio
