Friend is a computer game addict - I need advice!?

We've been best friends 18 years. One thing we love to do is play word games - Scrabble, Boggle, etc. Recently she has gotten hooked playing these games by herself online - like 4-6 hours per day. Now she is impossible to play with. I can never beat her. Not that I have to win, but it's just not fun anymore because we're not on the same skill level. I think she knows it bugs me but she's not changing anything.

You say you do not play to win, but you do not mean it. I have played many of these type games %26amp; always lose (I know I have no chance before starting it cuz men suck at word games). I still have a lot of fun doing it cuz I am spending time with a person %26amp; laughing/having a good time. An 8 year old boy has no chance of beating his dad in 1 on 1 basketball but still loves to do it.



So you can improve your game to get on her skill level, really mean that winning does not matter, or stop playing cuz it does.Friend is a computer game addict - I need advice!?

grow up and get over it. it's part of the competition.
Yeah, pretty much get a new friend. The sad thing about being friends with someone when you were younger is that things change and you change. It's a fact of life. There's probably some friends out there that you can meet that are more in tune with what you want to do. I'm not saying cut all ties with her, but don't get sucked into the lameness. :)
