So how does Texas do what other states fail at?

How do they get so much state pride? I have been to Texas many times and even lived there for a short while. Never in all my 26 years have I ever seen more state pride in person or online than I have for Texas. No offense Texans but I found nothing overly special about your state during my stay (it was actually quite boring for me) and it boggles me as to why there is so much pride in it.



I have heard every Texas joke out there, real answers only please.So how does Texas do what other states fail at?

when you have a myopic view of the world and you have not much else going for you...you take pride in whatever little things you can...whether it's your car, your neighborhood, or the state where you live.
I know right? I lived in texas when I was younger and didnt understand it either....I dunno..maybe if you are born or at least raised there..you learn too have it.



then again..I was born here in illinois( raised somewhat here too) and kinda shrug off the whole state pride thing for here too.

because, we get all the drugs from the drug cartels from across the border, so we are proud to distribute the drugs to the TEXAS SYNDACITE gang that will then take I-35 to other states and distribute the drugs, to much smaller gangs, that will then sell the drugs for low profit. THATS WHY WE HAVE STATE PRIDE
In the category "largest US-states" they always end up in the top-three.



I suppose the oil might have something to do with it, also.



Um... they have Houston, which is kinda famous.



They tend to score pretty high when it comes to cowboy hats and coronaries.

It is most likely it's size and history. I've really only been to the Dallas airport, so I'm no expert. I remember palm trees on the TV show Dallas. But the first time we landed in Dallas it was spitting snow.
well im from england and never really hear too much of texas other than its a bunch of bible loving republicans. george bush makes em look bad. so i think they dont have much to be proud of.
